At least it does if no one comments on it when you hand it out. Great business cards do more than communicate your information; they are memory-triggering devices for your brand.
There’s no excuse for business cards to be boring. Remarkable business cards don’t have to have flashy colors and or crazy images, they just have to have something unique about them. This unique something could be an interesting logo, a funny quote, a surprising layout, or another visual element that helps your card stand out from the crowd.
Here’s a quick way to tell if you have a great business card or not: when you hand someone your card, what do they say? If they simply say “Thanks,” or “Okay I’ll call you,” then your business card is (and possibly you are) forgettable. But if they say, “Wow, great card!” or “I love that!” then your business card is (and hopefully you are) memorable.
Anyone who has a great business card knows the exact reaction I’m talking about. If you haven’t experienced this when handing out yours, then your business card sucks.

Hi Drew,
I like the blog, good work. And this post rang true to me. Definitely agree that a business care needs to make statement. I once received a card that simply had a nice glossy shine to it. It wasn’t so much the design but the card just felt professional and stood out. Things like this obviously cost more but are effective.
Cheers, JP

Thanks, JP. You’re right, sometimes the smallest touches to a business card can make the difference in being remembered!
