Imagine that your business is a bus, and you, the person in charge of marketing that business, are the bus driver. Now think of your business’s customers as the passengers on your bus. If you let the passengers determine what route you drive, what times you pick up and drop off, and what stops you make, they will drive you, and themselves crazy. No one will get the level of service they want and your brand will suffer. Eventually, passengers (customers) may stop riding altogether in favor of a more organized bus.
But if you, the bus driver, are in control of your bus (your brand), and you create a bus that goes where you want it to while delivering great service to its passengers, your bus will thrive.
This is the story behind the name of my upcoming branding workshop, Drive Your Brand … or your brand will drive you. It’s a one-day workshop is for business marketers, and it will help you move from wondering, “what the heck is my brand?” to knowing how to take control of your brand and get others onboard. Each attendee will leave the event with a complete brand strategy and a ton of materials for reference and review.
If you’re in Eastern Iowa, the next branding workshop is on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville, IA. If you are considering attending, seating is limited to the first 50 registrants, so be sure to register early. (And if you’re a golfer, the workshop ends at 4:30, so make sure you schedule a tee time with Brown Deer for 5:00!)
More information and registration is available at DriveYourBrandNow.com. This should be a fun, educational day for everyone, and I hope to see you there!
